Create project files & Setup Reference files for Tracing
OBJECTIVE: To provide a guide for the creation of the 3D model to ensure that the fundamentals of the model are all built accurately.
4.1
THOROUGHLY ANALYZE PROJECT INFO AGAIN

Following up on Step 02, please review all drawings again to gain a full understanding or to refresh your memory about the focus model being created.

4.2
CREATE NEW PROJECT IN REVIT
​
Create New Project using the Company Templates discussed at Step 00.
​
This step is only necessary if a Revit Project file has not been sent to you by the Project Lead, Lead Artist or the Project Manager.
4.3
MODIFY DATUM ELEMENTS AS REQUIRED
​
Change Levels & Grids (Datum Elements) inside Project file based on the information provided for this specific project. Edit and / or Add in additional required datum elements as needed.

PIN ALL DATUM ELEMENTS
​
This ensures that these important reference lines are not shifted accidentally.

LINK / IMPORT REFERENCE FILES
​

Link in reference floor plans, elevations & section drawings

Ensure the scale of reference files are correct

Align with datum elements in correct position

SAVE FILE
​
Please try and save frequently - At least once every fifteen (15) minutes.
